Community Involvement Initiatives

The Town of Miami Lakes offers many ways for businesses, residents, and other community members to be involved in our proud displays in town.

Military Tribute Banner Project

The Town of Miami Lakes and its Veterans Committee are delighted to recognize and pay tribute to Miami Lakes’ military heroes for their sacrifice. Thanks to our sponsor Miami Lakes AutoMall, family members and loved ones may now nominate an active duty service member, reservist, veteran, or retired member from any branch of the military to be honored with a street banner with the individual’s name and photo. To qualify, honorees must be a Miami Lakes resident, a business owner or a veteran that works in the Town. Also, residents and business owners can nominate a veteran or service member of their choice. The banner will be prominently displayed on Miami Lakes Drive.

Nominations for the 2025 Banner Project must be received by April 4, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Graduate Banner Program

The Town of Miami Lakes and its Education Advisory Board are proud to support and celebrate educational achievement. To do this, we are marking street-lights with banners, displayed along Miami Lakes Drive!

Banners for Class of 2025 Seniors will be made available beginning in February 2025.

Aden Perry Life Ring

The Aden Perry Hero Life initiative honors the life and heroic actions of High School student, Aden Perry, who tragically lost his life trying to save an individual from a submerged vehicle that had veered off-road.

In a dedicated effort to public safety around local waterways, the Town of Miami Lakes is partnering with the Aden Perry Good Samaritan and Scholarship Fund and the Town’s Neighborhood Improvement Committee to install life rings at several locations around town. The Town is seeking sponsors to support the installation of these life-saving devices, aimed at preventing tragic drowning incidents.

The total cost of donation for the installation of a life ring is $395.00. Once a location request is submitted, a representative of the Town of Miami Lakes will reach out to secure payment.
