Town Celebrates 54th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week

Town Celebrates 54th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week

May 3, 2023

Miami Lakes, FL – This week marks the 54th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week, an annual recognition of the important role played by municipal clerks in local government. We want to thank our very own Gina and Victoria for their hard work, patience, and dedication to the greater good of the Town. From recording minutes, swearing in new committee members, to overseeing town-wide municipal elections, the Office of the Clerk acts as the professional link between the citizens, the Town Council, and Town staff.

Mrs. Gina M. Inguanzo first joined the Town in 2012 as the Deputy Town Clerk and Assistant to the Council, serving 3 years in the role before ascending to the role of Town Clerk in 2015. For the past 8 years, Gina has been a proud custodian of public records in the Town of Miami Lakes and looks to ensure that every process under her watch is done with the highest degree of accuracy, transparency, and benefit of the residents of Miami Lakes.

Ms. Victoria Martinez joined rank in the Office of the Town Clerk in an assistant role in May of 2021, spending a year under Mrs. Inguanzo before taking on the role of Deputy Town Clerk in February of 2022, where she performs many roles including acting as the Assistant to the Town Council, overseeing Planning and Zoning Board meetings, and much more in assisting the Town Clerk in her duties.

Professional Municipal Clerks Week is celebrated annually during the first full week of May. It was established in 1969 to recognize the important contributions made by municipal clerks to the effective functioning of local government.
