Miami Lakes, FL – On November 26, 2024, Joshua Dieguez was elected to serve the residents of Miami Lakes as Mayor which left council position Seat 4, vacant. As per Section 2.5(c)(ii) of the Charter of the Town of Miami Lakes, the Mayor must make a nomination to fill the vacancy within thirty (30) days of the occurrence of the vacancy. The Town Council will then vote on the nomination in a public meeting. In the event the Town Council rejects the Mayor’s nominee, a special election must then be held within ninety (90) days of the occurrence of the vacancy or as soon as practical pursuant to Florida Law and the Code of Miami-Dade County. Mayor Dieguez has until December 27, 2024 to name a nominee to fill the vacant Seat 4 position.
Mayor Joshua Dieguez hereby notifies all interested parties who wish to be considered and are qualified to fill the vacancy of Seat 4 to submit the application and all required documents no later than Friday, December 20, 2024 at 5:00 pm, to the Town Clerk via email inguanzog@miamilakes-fl.gov or in person at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, Miami Lakes, Florida. Any applications received after this time will not be considered.
Mayor Dieguez will select a nominee for the Town Council Seat 4 position from the list of applicants.
