It’s the Most Wonderful Time of Year! The Town of Miami Lakes and its Elderly Affairs Committee invite Miami Lakes residents 55 years and above to join in celebrating the holidays at their “Senior Holiday Luncheon.”

The Senior Holiday Luncheon, proudly sponsored by Graham Companies and Coventry Health Care, will be held on Saturday, December 10th at the Roberto Alonso Community Center from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The center is located at 16500 NW 87th Avenue. Seating is limited and is provided on a first come, first served basis.
Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for children 12 and under that will be donated to children in need.

The Town of Miami Lakes and its Youth Activities Task Force invites you and your family to get into the holiday spirit for the showing of Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on Friday, December 16^th beginning at 7:30 pm at the Miami Lakes Picnic Park West, located at 15151 Montrose Road/NW 82nd Avenue.

This Academy Award winning film by Ron Howard stars Jim Carrey in his portrayal of the Grinch who lives on the outskirts of Whoville, and plans on ruining the Christmas holiday for all of the citizens of the town!

Don’t forget to bring your blankets and chairs for this free, family-friendly evening of movie watching under the stars!

Attention all middle and high school students! Grab your gloves, scarves, and jackets and come join The Spot for our Ice Skating Field Trip to Pines Ice Arena! Bring your friends and come hang out with us for a day filled with fun on the ice! Food and transportation will be provided! We are meeting at The Spot Saturday December 17th at 10:00am and will be returning back to The Spot at 2:00pm. Our deadline to register is November 30, registration fee is $20.

The Town of Miami Lakes is excited to announce the addition of a Farmers Market that will take place each Saturday at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West, 15151 NW 82^nd Avenue, starting on Saturday, January 14^th. The Markets will be held from 9am-1pm each Saturday running through the month of May. The Farmers Markets will offer a variety of fresh produce, natural juices, assorted flowers, cultural foods, and handcrafted accessories.

On Saturday, January 14^th to celebrate the opening on the long-awaited Farmers Market, the Town will also be hosting SUPER SATURDAY AT THE PARK:

Community Bike Ride: registration at 7:30am; bike ride from 8-9am

Yoga in the Park: 9-10am; offered in partnership with local business 305 Yoga

Boot Camp: 10-11am; offered in partnership with Fit Like Me Miami

Healthy Cooking Demonstration: 11am-1pm provided by the Naked Bite (registration required)
