Join us on December 14, 2024 for a night of celebration in honor of the Town of Miami Lakes Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Class of 2024!

The Miami Lakes Sports Hall of Fame was created to honor athletes, coaches, community members, and teams from the Town of Miami Lakes for their outstanding contribution or achievement in sport. The Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is an annual event where the Town—through its Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee—honors and recognizes individuals who have excelled in sport or in providing opportunities for other to experience great athletic programs in the Town.


2024 Inductee Class

Reid Stevenson

Reid Stevenson is a long-time basketball coach and resident of Miami Lakes. Having spent the past 30 years as an assistant coach at Monsignor Pace High School, and is credited as one of the founders of the basketball program for the Town of Miami Lakes along with Jim Hamilton and Richard Blake. He also started the basketball program at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School before joining the coaching staff at Pace in 1993.

Jose Caballero

Jose Caballero is a long-time resident and frequent participant in the Geezers Softball games at Optimist Park. He is still an active competitor in travel baseball tournaments in the over-50 category despite his age of over 70. He is a decorated player who played at Jackson Senior High School and has always represented the town well, including many years as a coach at Optimist Park for his three sons.

Danny Delgado

Danny Delgado is a former pitcher for Monsignor Pace High School and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1997, where he would play six years in the minor league. He is now the co-owner of Mayor’s Café in Miami Lakes and was a long-time resident.
