Budget

The Budget Department promotes efficient resource allocation based on the priorities and needs of citizens, elected officials, and the administration.

Building

The Building Department is responsible for the review, inspection and permitting of new construction and/or alterations to any structures within the Town in accordance with the current prevailing building codes, zoning regulations, ordinances and statutes adopted by the Town of Miami Lakes and the State of Florida.

Code Compliance

The Code Compliance Department is responsible for assuring that all commercial, industrial and residential properties comply with the Town’s Code, to ensure that the quality of life and property values continue to rise and the community continues “Growing Beautifully”.

Communications & Community Affairs

The Department of Communications & Community Affairs directs and supports the Town’s communications efforts to Miami Lakes residents through proactive and responsive activities.

Finance

The Finance Department records and reports the Town’s financial transactions per Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Grants

Grants works in partnership with Departments and Offices to research, compose, edit, and submit Federal, State, Local, and Foundation funding opportunities to support the goals and objectives of the 2025 Strategic Plan.

Neighborhood Services Districts

A Neighborhood Service District is a designated area whereby a majority of property owners agree to allow the Town of Miami Lakes to provide special services through a non-ad valorem assessment.

To ensure that Miami Lakes remains a vibrant, growing community that provides a sense of place and maintains its character, the Planning Department provides planning, development, and design services.

The Procurement Department is responsible for the procurement process which includes the purchase or contract of commodities, equipment and services, contract administration, dispute resolution, as well as the disposition of Town owned surplus property.

Public Works & CIP

The Town of Miami Lakes Public Works Department is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and effective services to residents, employees, businesses, and visitors of the Town. The Department is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and improvements of the Towns infrastructure.

Technology & Innovation

The Innovation and Technology Office (ITO) provides technology services, infrastructure, and telecommunications to the Town’s residents, visitors, and businesses.

The Zoning Department in the Town of Miami Lakes is responsible for regulating land use and development to ensure compliance with the town’s zoning ordinances, ensuring that the town is “Growing Beautifully”.
