Officer Juan Rodriguez Receives Municipal Police Officer of the Year Award

Miami Lakes, FL -Town of Miami Lakes Community Service Officer Juan Rodriguez was named Municipal Police Officer of the Year at the 41st Annual Citizens’ Crime Watch of Miami-Dade award ceremony. Mayor Michael Pizzi and the Town Council recognized this important achievement at the recent State of the Town Address. Officer Rodriguez has consistently demonstrated his dependable community oriented approach to policing, maintaining a great rapport with the Miami-Dade Police Department and Town residents.

As a certified Florida Crime Prevention Practitioner, he applies his certification on a regular basis as he conducts both residential and commercial security surveys. In addition, Officer Rodriguez attends all homeowners’ association meetings and participates in monthly meetings with the Town’s Elderly Affairs Committee, Youth Activities Task Force, and Public Safety Committee.

Furthermore, Officer Rodriguez has served on several special event planning committees ensuring success and safety at all events. He was commended for his role in planning and participating in the first ever Breanna Vergara 5 K event last December. Along with his fellow Dade Police Officers, he lined the 5K route providing a secure path for over 2,000 participants to enjoy. Despite the demand of the aforementioned responsibilities, Officer Rodriguez also serves as the Sergeant at Arms at Town Council and Planning and Zoning meetings, assist with daily traffic flow at Bob Graham Elementary.
