The following participating agencies will be present:
Alliance for the Aging - As the Area Agency on Aging provides services for older adults, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers. Through a network of provider agencies, the Alliance provides home and community-based services that help older adults age in place in their own communities.
Community Action and Human Services Department - Miami-Dade County’s largest provider of comprehensive social and human services offering a variety of elderly assistance programs.
Department of Children & Families - The Adult Protective Services Program is charged with protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, or exploitation. DCF Adult Protective Services will provide pamphlets and brochures.
Department of Motor Vehicles - The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Mini-FLOW (Florida Licensing on Wheels) will be onsite to help you renew, replace or obtain a new Florida Driver’s License. Written exams and driving test will NOT be offered.
Miami Dade Fire Rescue Department - Miami-Dade Fire Rescue will be providing senior fire and life safety education and literature as well as register participants for the Senior Smoke Alarm Installation program.
Miami-Dade Elections Department - Assisting with voter registration, voter card replacement, name changes, political party changes, signature updates, absentee ballot request for November general election, restoration of civil rights information. THE ELECTIONS DEPARTMENT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING OR COLLECTING MAIL-IN BALLOTS FOR THE TOWN OF MIAMI LAKES MAY 17 SPECIAL ELECTIONS.
Miami Dade Public Library - The Miami-Dade Public Library System will have information about how to obtain a library card and how to access these services.
SafeLink Wireless - SafeLink Wireless makes wireless telephone service more affordable by offering Lifeline service for qualified customers.
Transit Department with Golden Passport - The Golden Passport EASY Card, allows Miami-Dade County residents who are 65 years old or older to ride free on Miami-Dade Transit’s system.
Transit Department with STS – The Special Transportation Service (STS) is available for people with a physical, mental or intellectual disability who cannot ride Metrobus, Metrorail or Metromover.
Walgreens – Walgreens Pharmacy will be providing free health screenings.
