All applications must be received by Monday, April 11th, 2016 and will be forwarded to the Town’s Education Advisory Board for their selection of two recipients. The winners will be announced at the Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.
Interested seniors must submit a typed essay (750 words maximum) explaining in his/her own words how they aspire to make the world a better place. The student must demonstrate academic achievement and community service commitment, as well as identify future goals. The winners will have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to their school and their community.
A cover sheet must accompany the essay, along with an official sealed high school transcript, and three letters of recommendation from non-relatives, one of which must be from a teacher or school official.
