Mayor Throws First Pitch of the Miami Lakes Optimist Club Season

Miami Lakes, FL -On Friday, February 19, Town of Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi threw the ceremonial first pitch of the Miami Lakes Optimist Baseball Season. This season, the program has over 30 teams and over 400 children registered for baseball and softball.

"On behalf of the Miami Lakes Town Council, I congratulate all of the Miami Lakes Optimist Club board members, volunteers and coaches for the countless number of hours they have given. Their efforts enable the Town to provide successful programs year after year to the children of Miami Lakes" said Mayor Pizzi.

A volunteer-based organization, the Optimist Club of Miami Lakes Club in partnership with the Town has assisted in the development of our youth through quality sports and educational programs since 1969; fostering a foundation of strong, civic minded citizenry within our community. This strong relationship and dual commitment to the children has enabled us to provide successful programs year after year.
