Mayor Throws First Pitch Of The Season At Miami Lakes Optimist Park

Miami Lakes, FL - On Friday, February 22, Town of Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi threw the first pitch of the Miami Lakes Optimist Baseball Season and presented Miami Lakes Optimist Club President, Mike Sanchez a proclamation for his effort and dedication to the program. With over 45 teams and about 550 children registered for baseball and softball, this season is off to a great start! The Optimist Club in partnership with the Town of Miami Lakes has assisted in the development of our youth through quality sports and educational programs since 1969; fostering a foundation of strong, civic minded citizenry within our community.

“I am proud to recognize the dedicated volunteers of the Optimist Club of Miami Lakes and acknowledge the special relationship that the Town of Miami Lakes has with the Club. This strong relationship and dual commitment to the children has enabled us to provide successful programs year after year to the children of Miami Lakes, “ said Mayor Pizzi. “The Optimist Club of Miami Lakes a staple of the community now and for years to come.”
