Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes continues to be recognized for its abundant, beautiful tree canopy and exceptional tree management practices was once again awarded both the Tree City USA Certification for this past year.
This is the 9th consecutive year the Town has received the Tree City USA designation. The Tree City USA designation is provided by The Arbor Day Foundation, in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, to recognize environmental improvement and encourage higher levels of tree care throughout America. This award is designed not only to recognize achievement, but also to communicate new ideas and help the leaders of all Tree City USAs plan for improving community tree care.
The Town has recently completed a comprehensive Tree Management Plan, which establishes an organized, proactive tree maintenance program to ensure Miami Lakes continues "Growing Beautifully."
“The Tree City USA award has special significance in Miami Lakes because our tree canopy is one of the signatures of our Town," said Mayor Michael Pizzi. "Miami Lakes has long prided itself on being a “Tree City” in every possible way. We appreciate the honor and thank our staff and our residents.”
