Town Hosts 9/11 Commemorative Event

Miami Lakes, FL - Mayor Michael Pizzi held a commemorative event on, Friday, September 11th in front the Veterans Memorial at Town Hall. The event began at 8:46 a.m., the same time the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. Pastor Bert Leon of the PSN Baptist Church led attendees in prayer and took a moment of silence to honor and remember all of the victims of September 11, 2001.

Vice Mayor Cid, members of the Town’s Police and Fire Departments, as well as Town Staff were present to honor the heroes who lost their lives on September 11th.

“It was a moving occasion honoring not only honoring those that lost their lives, but also those that continue to serve,” said Mayor Michael Pizzi. “The large number of firefighters and police officers who attended were very much appreciated. I was happy to see our Town united in support of our first responders.”
