These courses will provide instruction to boaters at all levels, from the fundamental to the advanced. Classes will be taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors committed to the highest standards of the U.S. Coast Guard.

UPDATE: August Summer Boating Safety Courses

Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes has partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to host Boating Safety Education courses in Miami Lakes. These courses will provide instruction to boaters at all levels, from the fundamental to the advanced. Classes will be taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors committed to the highest standards of the U.S. Coast Guard.

The courses will take place at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 NW 82nd Avenue, on the following dates:

Saturday, August 22: About Boating Safety, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Saturday, August 29: CANCELLED

 

About Boating Safety is a beginner boating class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain your Florida Boater's Identification Card (required for boaters born after January 1988). Topics covered throughout the course include: Introduction to Boating; Boating Law; Boating Safety Equipment; Safe Boating; Navigation; Boating Problems; Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat; and information about the Local Boating Area.
