Miami Lakes, FL - The Town and its Neighborhood Committee (NIC) will host a Community Forum at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 5 inside Council Chambers at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, in Miami Lakes.
The meeting will include a presentation of the Town’s new mobile app “Lakes Life”, and will also serve as the kickoff for Lake Quality Awareness Month. Information will be provided on the best management practices to maintain the cleanliness of lakes and community service opportunities for high school students.
This is Miami Lakes’ third year celebrating August as Lake Quality Awareness Month. The designation was established by the NIC in order to raise awareness about the quality of lakes in Miami Lakes and to recognize the important role that the lakes play in the Town’s public image and recreational life.
The mission of the Town of Miami Lakes NIC is to recommend, promote, and create projects and activities that will beautify and improve all its neighborhoods in a collaborative and comprehensive manner. NIC also promotes efforts that encourage a physically active, sustainable, and engaged community in Miami Lakes.
