Kaitlin Castillo, a graduating senior from Barbara Goleman Senior High School who will attend University of Miami and Sharon Zajac, a graduating senior from Miami Lakes Educational Center who will attend Florida International University both received a $1,000 Miami Lakes Future Leaders Scholarship, presented by The Graham Companies.
Both students are highly accomplished and demonstrated excellence in both academics and community service and were chosen as the winners by the Town’s Education Advisory Board. Castillo serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the school’s Yearbook, and is the founding president of the BETA Club. Zajac created the His House Field Day Event and serves as the president of the American Sign Language Club.
