Miami Lakes, FL -The Town Council and young members of the Just Run® Miami Lakes Program joined the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Walk on April 25 at Graham Park in Miami Lakes.
The Just Run® Miami Lakes Program participants, elementary and middle school students ages 5 through 14, were excited to participate in this great opportunity to get involved with a great cause and take part in a healthy activity. The program, made possible through the Town and its Youth Activities Task Force, has 64 participants and led by Just Run leader Jeremy Bajdaun.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an inherited life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system that affects about 30,000 children and adults in the United States and 70,000 worldwide. Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event with more than 125,000 people each year participating in hundreds of walks across the country to raise funds for CF research and drug development.
The Just Run® Miami Lakes Program, in its 5th year, is a free, fun program that promotes fitness, healthy eating, good citizenship and pride in accomplishment.
