Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes participated in this year’s Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run on April 23 in Bayfront Park. The team, named “Running Beautifully”, was comprised of about 20 staff members that either walked or ran the 5K route.
The purpose of the Corporate Run Series is to promote running and walking as a means to a fit, healthy lifestyle for people from all walks of corporate life. Studies show that workers who exercise have fewer sick days and maintain a higher level of energy during the day, and therefore are more productive in their work.
The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run is made up of three individual 5K road races that are held in the evening during the work week in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The Series is known as one of the largest 5K races in the nation with more than 25,000 participants and hundreds of companies.
This year's event raised more than $36,000 to donate to The United Way.
The Town is proud of its “Running Beautifully” team who took part in this healthy and team building activity.
