Third-Grade Class Visits Town Hall for "Community Day"

Miami Lakes, FL - More than 40 third-graders from the Extended Foreign Language (EFL) Program at Bob Graham Education Center visited Miami Lakes Town Hall on Jan. 23 as part of “Community Day”.

Started nine years ago, the EFL program emphasizes the teaching of language arts and curriculum content in both English and Spanish to students grades K-8. The program is designed to foster a continuum of bilingual studies through 12th grade.

"As public servants in our community, we have an obligation to ensure that future generations embrace and comprehend our constitutional republic form of government," Vice Mayor Manny Cid said. "It was real honor to be able to share my experience in government with our future leaders."
