Miami Lakes Dog Park Public Meetings Set for Dec. 3 and Dec. 6

Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes is known for its beautiful tree lined streets, parks, and green spaces. With a commitment to continue "Growing Beautifully", the Town has recently embarked on a renewed urban beautification effort to reach this goal for not only our residents, but our furry friends as well. Over the past several years there have been requests from Miami Lakes dog owners to have their very own dog park.

Last year, the Town acquired a parcel of property from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) located at the southern end of NW 77 Ct. with suitable conditions for a dog recreation area, adjacent to future proposed trails and facilities. The Proposed Dog Recreation Area is planned to have separate fenced areas for both large and a small dogs, a parking lot, water fountain, and shaded picnic shelter.

The Town of Miami Lakes will host two public meeting to gain resident input on the proposed Dog Recreation Area concept and design. The meetings will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd from 7-8pm at the Mary Collins Community Center and Saturday, December 6th from 10-11am in Town Hall Council Chambers.

For more information, please contact Daniel Hopkins, Director of Community Services at 305-364-6100 or via email at hopkinsd@miamilakes-fl.gov. The Town of Miami Lakes encourages all residents to attend.
