Street Designated in Miami Lakes to Honor Rev. James P. Murphy

Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes recently designated a street to honor the late Rev. James P. Murphy, the well-known and long-time pastor of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.

Miami Lakes North, between 67th Avenue and Miami Lakes Drive, is now known as Father Murphy Way. More than 100 people attended the sign dedication ceremony held at the location of the new sign adjacent to the Church.

“In recognition of Father Murphy’s many years of service to the community and its residents, the Town of Miami Lakes Council wanted to honor him with this designation,” Miami Lakes Mayor Wayne Slaton said. “Whenever people travel on Father Murphy Way, they can remember the great impact he made on so many lives in our community.”
