Public Invited to Greenways and Trails Master Plan Town Hall Meeting on Oct. 7
Miami Lakes, FL -The Town of Miami Lakes invites the community to attend a Town Hall meeting on the Greenways and Trails Master Plan presented by the Director of Community & Leisure Services Tony Lopez, at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, October 7 in the Council Chamber of Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, Miami Lakes.
The Town of Miami Lakes received grant funding through the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to develop a Greenways and Trails Master Plan to create a non-motorized transportation system to connect communities, schools, parks, and businesses. The plan focuses on key elements of non-motorized transportation including pedestrian pathways, bicycle trails, shared-use paths, recreational greenways, and connections to mass transit, thereby optimizing walking and bicycling as healthy, clean transportation options in Miami Lakes.
The plan highlights five areas for commuter trail development located at: NW 77th Court; Canal Trail between Leaning Pine Drive and NW 67th Avenue; NW 67th Avenue; NW 87th Avenue; and NW 154th Street. The trail system branches off from these major corridors to incorporate scenic areas throughout the Town’s neighborhoods.
