Lake Quality Awareness Month Kick Off Event on Aug. 2

Miami Lakes, FL - In recognition of Lake Quality Awareness Month, the Town of Miami Lakes’ Neighborhood Improvement Committee (NIC) will hold a kickoff event at 10 am on Saturday, Aug. 2, at Graham Park/Meadow Walk Park, 6800 NW Meadow Walk, in Miami Lakes. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy a wonderful educational event in one of our best parks and learn about one of Miami Lakes’ most important treasures.

This free event will feature educational booths with information on the best management practices to maintain the cleanliness of lakes and community service opportunities for high school students, as well as food trucks to enjoy a bite to eat.

For the second year in a row, the Town will celebrate August as Lake Quality Awareness Month. This designation was established by the NIC and Councilman Tony Lama in order to raise awareness about the quality of our lakes and to recognize the important role that our lakes play in the Town’s public image and recreational life.
