Town Council Read to Children for National Library Week
 
Miami Lakes, FL - In celebration of National Library Week, the Town of Miami Lakes Council read books to nearly 30 children on April 17 at the Miami Lakes Branch Public Library, part of the Miami-Dade Public Library System.

Vice Mayor Manny Cid, Councilmember Tim Daubert, Councilmember Nelson Rodriguez, Councilmember Ceasar Mestre and Margaret Slaton enjoyed reading books to the infant and toddler aged children. Jessica E. Iglesias, Librarian 1 greeted the Council and presented them with a certificate of participation.

"Reading is the foundation of a healthy and prosperous future," Vice Mayor Cid said. "It was a privilege to be able to read to our future community leaders."

National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and held each April at libraries across the country.
