Town Council Delivers Holiday Cheer

Miami Lakes, FL -  Spearheaded by Councilman Frank Mingo, the Town of Miami Lakes, in partnership with Oliva Cigars, Co. hosted a toy drive benefiting His House Children's Home and the Miami Children's Hospital. Over 100 toys were donated and more than $1,000.00 in gift cards collected.

"Bringing a smile to a child's face at Christmas is priceless. Councilman Mingo's leadership made this happen. I am thankful for his work and the generosity of the Oliva Family," said Councilman Tony Lama.

On December 18th, the Town Council delivered gifts to children who visited the Miami Children's Outpatient Center during the holiday season. The
Council also met with Ms. Jean Caceres-Gonzalez, founder of His House to deliver toys who explained that His House serves as a faith-based social services agency that provides residential care, foster and adoption services, as well as counseling and education for children in crisis.

"On behalf of the Town Council, thank you to Councilman Mingo for spearheading this initiative and to those that donated to this effort. Your generous support allowed us to spread some holiday cheer in our local community," said Mayor Wayne Slaton.
