Miami Lakes, FL - On Thursday, July 4th, the Town of Miami Lakes celebrated its most successful Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Show, which was moved to a new location this year at the Miami Lakes Optimist Park. Over twenty thousand people attended the 10th Annual Concert and Fireworks show, which featured music by DJ Adrian Sanchez and a special performance by Lauren Posey and the Velvet Rope Band.
"This year's event was, by far, the most exciting and best attended event that the Town of Miami Lakes has ever put on," said Mayor Michael Pizzi. "We had great music, great food, activities for families and children of all ages, and an amazing fireworks show! I am proud to be able to celebrate this nation's birthday with the residents of Miami Lakes with such an amazing birthday celebration!" The highlight of the event was when Mayor Pizzi, along with Keith Askins, Assistant Coach of the Miami Heat, and Charles James of the Cultural Affairs Committee, counted down to the start of the dazzling fireworks show.
